Career preparation is an important part of developing future tourism and hospitality professionals. The workshop was therefore designed to help students apply classroom knowledge to real-life recruitment and interview situations.
The training focused on practical English skills required for job applications and interviews in the tourism and hospitality industry. Key areas included professional self-introduction, answering interview questions, presenting personal experience and strengths, and using appropriate language, tone of voice, and professional personality.
Key Skills Practiced During the Workshop
- Professional self-introduction in English
- Techniques for answering job interview questions
- Presenting personal experience, abilities, and strengths
- Appropriate language, tone, and professional personality
- Practice through simulated job interview situations
To emphasize learning through practice, students participated in mock job interviews that simulated actual recruitment situations. These activities allowed them to practice communicating under realistic conditions, identify areas for improvement, and build greater confidence in presenting their capabilities to prospective employers.
The workshop was honored to welcome Dr. Khanchai Wongchana and Dr. Apinan Wongkittiporn, lecturers with expertise in English language teaching and learning from Prince of Songkla University, Surat Thani Campus, as guest speakers. They shared their knowledge, techniques, and experience while providing students with practical guidance throughout the training.
The activity forms part of the preparation for fourth-year students before undertaking professional internships in tour operation and hotel businesses during Semester 2 of the 2026 academic year. The internship period is scheduled for November 2026 to March 2027.
Through the workshop, students are expected to become better prepared in English communication, professional personality, interpersonal communication, and self-confidence, enabling them to adapt effectively to real workplace environments in the tourism and hospitality industry.
