From Classroom to Hospitality Careers: IST Enhances Students' Beverage-Mixing Skills Through Hands-On Workshop

Learning from Industry Professionals Through Practical Experience

Learning in hospitality goes beyond the classroom. The International School of Tourism (IST), Suratthani Rajabhat University, organized a hands-on beverage-mixing workshop to equip students with practical knowledge and essential food and beverage skills for their future careers in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The Bachelor of Arts Program in Tourism and Hospitality Management organized the workshop as part of the Food and Beverage Management for Tourism and Hospitality course. The activity aimed to connect classroom knowledge with practical experience and strengthen students' professional competencies.

The workshop featured Peerayakorn Nakhan from A-lin Bar & Bistro as a guest instructor, sharing professional knowledge and practical experience in beverage-mixing equipment and fundamental techniques. The four-day program combined theoretical instruction with hands-on practice, allowing students to learn directly from an industry practitioner.

Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to essential beverage-mixing equipment, basic preparation techniques, and practical procedures used in food and beverage operations. The learning activities provided opportunities to apply theoretical concepts and build confidence through practice.

Beyond developing technical skills, the workshop provided valuable exposure to industry-based knowledge and professional practices. These experiences are intended to support students as they prepare for internships, work-integrated learning, and future employment in tourism and hospitality.

IST remains committed to integrating academic learning with practical training and industry expertise. By connecting students with hospitality professionals, the School seeks to develop career-ready graduates equipped with relevant knowledge and skills for the evolving service industry.
