Preparing Freshmen for a Bilingual Learning Environment
The Tourism and Hospitality Management Program, International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, organized the THM Intensive English 30-Hour Program for newly admitted students in the bilingual track before the official start of the academic semester.
The program aims to strengthen students’ English language skills for classroom learning, daily communication, and adaptation to a bilingual learning environment. These skills are essential for students in tourism and hospitality, where international communication plays a key role in both academic and professional development.
English is more than a subject—it is a gateway to global learning, international experiences, and future career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Learning from Experienced English Language Specialists
The program was led by experienced English language specialists, Dr. Khanchai Wongchana and Dr. Apinan Wongkittiporn, lecturers from the Business English Communication Program, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Management Sciences, Prince of Songkla University.
Opening Doors to International Opportunities
Beyond preparing students for bilingual classroom learning, the THM Intensive English Program serves as an important foundation for international opportunities throughout the curriculum.
Students are encouraged to participate in international student exchange programs during their third year of study and undertake cooperative education placements in tourism and hospitality businesses abroad during their fourth year.
The program also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education, developing employability skills for future careers, and strengthening academic collaboration among higher education institutions.
