IST TO BE NUMBER ONE Empowers Students for University, National and International Competitions
Developing students' skills, confidence and competitive readiness through professional coaching and mock competitions while creating opportunities for every student to discover and demonstrate their potential.
From 24–28 August 2026, the International School of Tourism (IST), Suratthani Rajabhat University, through its Student Affairs Division, organized the project “IST TO BE NUMBER ONE: Developing Student Potential and Promoting Participation in University, National and International Competitions” at the Aviation Business Laboratory, first floor of the 80th Birthday Anniversary Building, Suratthani Rajabhat University. The project aims to help students discover, strengthen and confidently demonstrate their potential as they prepare for higher-level competitions.
The project focuses on comprehensive student development by strengthening knowledge, professional skills, communication skills, creativity, leadership, teamwork, confidence and self-expression. Through experiential learning and practical training, students are prepared to apply their abilities in academic, professional, innovation, sports, arts and cultural, and other creative competitions at university, national and international levels.
Coaching Students Before Entering the Real Competition
Conducted continuously over five days, the activities emphasize a coaching-based development process led by experienced trainers. Students receive guidance on competition preparation, individual potential development, presentation techniques and strategies for creating a strong impression on judges. The process enables participants to better understand competition environments while learning how to communicate their individual strengths effectively.
A key component of the program is the Mock Competition, which allows students to experience conditions similar to an actual competition. Individual coaching is provided to help each participant identify strengths, analyze areas for improvement and refine content, presentation, personality and situational-response skills before entering real competitions.
Developing Potential Alongside the IST Graduate Identity
Beyond competition outcomes, the project contributes to the development of students in accordance with IST's graduate identity: “Good Personality, Service Mind, Language Proficiency and Environmental Responsibility.” This approach enables students to develop the knowledge, competencies and personal attributes required for their education, future careers and participation in society.
The activities also support student development under the “Social Engineer” concept by encouraging students to develop the roles of thinkers, communicators, coordinators and innovators. These skills help students analyze situations, communicate ideas, collaborate effectively and creatively apply their knowledge to personal, community and social development.
Creating Space for Young People to Discover Their Potential
The project is also aligned with the principles of TO BE NUMBER ONE, encouraging students to become capable and responsible individuals with positive self-esteem, constructive thinking and opportunities to make good use of their free time. Creative activities provide students with a positive space to express their abilities, contributing to quality of life and their development as responsible members of society.
