IST Holds Orientation for 3rd-Year Aviation Business Students, Preparing for CWIE and Creating Graduates for the Professional Aviation Industry

On July 18, 2025, the International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University (IST SRU), held an orientation program for its 3rd-year Aviation Business students ahead of their Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) internships. The event was designed to prepare students and provide them with a clear understanding of the guidelines for working in a professional environment.

Dr. Jeerati Phun-iad, Dean of the International School of Tourism, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote address. He emphasized, "The CWIE experience is the heart of learning. It is an opportunity for students to apply theoretical knowledge from the classroom to real-world situations. This not only enhances professional skills but also builds confidence and prepares them to become quality personnel for the aviation industry."

The Aviation Business CWIE program is well-recognized and has a history of strong, ongoing collaborations with leading organizations in both the national and international aviation sectors. In previous years, students have had opportunities for internships with various leading airlines and ground handling service companies at Suvarnabhumi Airport and other international airports. This orientation builds on that success, preparing the latest cohort of students to perform to their fullest potential.

During the orientation, the program's faculty and executive team—led by Asst. Prof. Pornpaktra Sakda, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Program Chair; Lecturer Jaree Prommana, Associate Dean for Student Development; Lecturer Pongkrit Nanthakarn; and Asst. Prof. Jutharat Laopram—collectively presented essential details to the students. This included codes of conduct during the internship, evaluation criteria, and procedures for required documentation, all designed to ensure a smooth and effective transition into the professional world.

The International School of Tourism is committed to developing well-rounded graduates who meet the demands of the labor market and are capable of becoming a key driving force for the aviation industry in Thailand and the wider region.
