IST Young Bartender Championship 2026 Transforms Southern Identity into Creative Signature Beverages

The Southern Regional Classic Bartender Competition brought together professional skills, creative presentation, and local storytelling under the concept “LOCAL MEETS GLOBAL.”

The International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, hosted the IST Young Bartender Championship 2026, providing emerging bartenders from educational institutions across Southern Thailand with a platform to demonstrate beverage-mixing skills, presentation techniques, and creative interpretations of Southern identity.

Event Date 21 July 2026

Competition Level Southern Regional Level

When Southern identity is expressed through a glass, a beverage becomes more than a recipe. This competition assessed not only technical precision and operational confidence, but also each contestant’s ability to reinterpret local ingredients, stories, lifestyles, and the distinctive charm of Southern Thailand in a contemporary and memorable form.

COMPETITION CONCEPT

LOCAL MEETS GLOBAL

“Inspired by Southern Identity, Crafted with Creativity”

Under the competition concept, contestants demonstrated Classic Bartender techniques alongside flavour design, ingredient selection, visual composition, and storytelling. Each beverage presented a different perspective, yet all shared a strong sense of pride in local identity and a commitment to communicating Southern stories to wider audiences through modern hospitality experiences.

A Platform for Skills, Creativity, and Learning

Professional Skills

Contestants strengthened beverage-mixing techniques, workflow management, hygiene, accuracy, and service standards required in the food and beverage industry.

Creative Presentation

The competition encouraged design thinking, storytelling, and the ability to present a distinctive beverage concept clearly and memorably.

Local Identity

Local ingredients, wisdom, and Southern cultural character were reimagined as creative products with value for the contemporary hospitality industry.

Throughout the event, the atmosphere was filled with energy, determination, and learning. Every team performed to the best of its ability, gained insights from the judges, exchanged experiences with participants from other institutions, and built professional connections across the food, beverage, tourism, and hospitality sectors.

The event also reflected the International School of Tourism’s commitment to developing learners in line with the needs of the tourism and hospitality industries. By connecting classroom learning with real competition settings, the programme supported confidence, professional communication, performance under pressure, and creative work grounded in local culture.

Thank You for Building This Learning Platform Together
