Small Team, Big Spirit! IST Faculty and Staff Shine in Special Track Events at the 21st Ratchaphruek Games

Teamwork, friendship and sporting spirit highlighted the 2026 SRU inter-faculty sports competition.

Faculty and staff of the International School of Tourism (IST), Suratthani Rajabhat University, brought energy, teamwork and sporting spirit to the special faculty-and-staff track events at the 21st Ratchaphruek Games, achieving impressive results despite being one of the university’s smaller teams.

The 21st Ratchaphruek Games, Suratthani Rajabhat University’s annual inter-faculty sports competition for the 2026 academic year, featured not only student competitions but also special events for university faculty and staff. These events promoted physical activity, friendship, teamwork and stronger relationships among units across the university.

One of the most memorable events was the Mixed 8×50 m Relay, normally contested by four women and four men. With fewer staff members available than many other teams, IST accepted the challenge with a different combination of five women and three men. Despite this adjustment, the team gave its full effort and successfully secured 3rd place.

The IST women’s faculty and staff team also delivered an outstanding performance in the Women’s 4×100 m Relay. Combining speed, coordination and strong team spirit, they crossed the finish line to claim an impressive 1st place.

IST’s male faculty and staff also participated in the Men’s 4×100 m Relay, another special event for university faculty and staff, adding excitement, friendly competition and enthusiastic support to this year’s Ratchaphruek Games.

These performances represented more than sporting results. They reflected the unity, cooperation and determination of the IST community. Although the International School of Tourism has a relatively small staff, its members continue to support one another and participate wholeheartedly in university activities — demonstrating that a small team can have a very big spirit.

Participation in sporting activities also contributes to physical and mental well-being while strengthening relationships among faculty, staff and other university units, supporting a positive, healthy and collaborative workplace.
