Preparing Students for University Learning

On 15 June 2026, the International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the Language Center under the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology, organized the “IST Basic English Skills Workshop 2026” for first-year students at Rooms 301 and 302, Dipangkorn Rasmijoti Building.

The workshop aimed to strengthen students’ foundational English communication skills before the start of the academic year, while fostering confidence in using English for learning, social interaction, and future professional development.

Learning Through Practical Communication Activities

The workshop adopted an interactive and practice-oriented approach, allowing students to actively engage in communication exercises, conversational activities, and real-life English language situations. The learning process emphasized participation, collaboration, and confidence-building through meaningful communication.

Students were encouraged to develop essential listening, speaking, and interpersonal communication skills, which serve as important foundations for university studies, international programs, exchange opportunities, and future careers in tourism, hospitality, and aviation industries.

Strengthening Collaboration for Student Development

This initiative reflects the strong collaboration between the International School of Tourism and the Language Center of Suratthani Rajabhat University in promoting language proficiency and lifelong learning opportunities for students. Developing English language skills from the first year of study provides students with a valuable foundation for cooperative education, international exchange programs, and future employment in increasingly globalized industries.

The workshop represents another important step in preparing IST freshmen to become confident communicators, lifelong learners, and future professionals capable of thriving in an international environment.
