International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, organized a volunteer community service activity to promote a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment. The students and staff were assigned to improve the area around Building 4 (the former IST building).
On July 3, 2025, the activity brought together many lecturers, staff, and students, all united by a shared sense of social responsibility and volunteer spirit. Everyone joined forces to sweep leaves, collect trash, wash surfaces, and reorganize the surrounding areas of Building 4, restoring cleanliness, safety, and beauty for all users.
Beyond basic cleaning, the team also trimmed and planted additional trees, created green corners, and added relaxing spots to make the area more pleasant and environmentally friendly. These green learning spaces aim to inspire creativity and promote well-being among students and staff.
This activity also strengthened the relationship and teamwork between students and staff through close collaboration. It encouraged a sense of unity, pride, and collective ownership, while fostering social responsibility and awareness of the importance of maintaining public spaces.
This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
-
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being — Clean and orderly environments support both physical and mental well-being for everyone.
-
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities — Improving public spaces to be safe, beautiful, and sustainable fosters a more livable and inclusive campus community.
-
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — The collective effort of all participants highlights the importance of collaboration to create positive social change.
This volunteer activity demonstrates IST’s commitment to nurturing graduates who are knowledgeable, socially responsible, and dedicated to contributing to a more sustainable society. It reflects the school's mission to promote both academic excellence and community engagement, ensuring long-term positive impacts on society.
