IST, SRU Empowers Local Communities through Professional Tour Guide Training

The International School of Tourism (IST), Suratthani Rajabhat University (SRU), in collaboration with Ban Chiao Lan Municipality, organized the selection examination for the “Southern Regional Tour Guide Training Program, Batch 2”, aiming to enhance community capacity and advance sustainable tourism.

The selection examination for participants in the “Southern Regional Tour Guide Training Program, Batch 2”, held to prepare and develop local tourism personnel and help them advance toward becoming licensed professional tour guides who meet quality standards.

Activity Details

The International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, in collaboration with Ban Chiao Lan Municipality, organized the selection examination for participants in the “Southern Regional Tour Guide Training Program, Batch 2” at Kraisorn Conference Room, Ban Chiao Lan Municipality, Ban Ta Khun District, Surat Thani Province. The event was honored by the presence of executives and representatives from partner organizations who served as members of the selection committee.

In addition, professional tour guides from the local area shared their valuable experiences and provided practical advice on the tour guide profession, helping applicants prepare for their training and future careers as licensed professional tour guides who meet quality standards.

This program is part of the academic services for society mission of the International School of Tourism, which aims to apply its knowledge and expertise in tourism to enhance community capacity, create career opportunities, elevate the standards of tourism professionals, and promote sustainable tourism — ultimately generating income and strengthening the local economy in the long term.
