IST Aviation Business Students Win Second Runner-Up Award for Social Engineering Innovation Model

From field-based learning to community innovation, another achievement by students of the International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University.

On 1 September 2026, students from the Aviation Business Program, International School of Tourism (IST), Suratthani Rajabhat University, participated in the presentation of community innovation models developed through the Social Engineering Process at the Auditorium, Deepang Korn Rasmijoti Building, Suratthani Rajabhat University.

The students presented the “Khlong Yan Community Tourism Map”, an innovation developed as part of the community-based tourism network and tourism route development initiative using the Social Engineering Process. The project transformed field-based information into an integrated tool for organizing and connecting the community's tourism resources.

The development process involved collaboration among students, community members and partner networks, beginning with field surveys, identifying community assets, analysing tourism potential, connecting resources, designing tourism routes, testing the Tourism Map and improving the innovation before transferring it for practical community use.

The Tourism Map brings together key tourism resources of Khlong Yan, including natural attractions and viewpoints, adventure activities, accommodation and camping, local lifestyles and wisdom, OTOP products, food, services and important locations. It enables previously scattered tourism information to be presented in a clear and accessible overview of the community.
