Thai Cultural and Local Wisdom Exhibition of the Four Regions by IST Students, Suratthani Rajabhat University

The International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, organized the “Thai Cultural and Local Wisdom Exhibition of the Four Regions” to showcase the richness of Thai identity and traditions. The event, led by Tourism and Hospitality Management students, integrated classroom learning with real-world practice under the course ITH0007 Cultural Heritage and Local Wisdom for Tourism.


On September 24, 2025, at the 1st Floor, Chalermprakiat 80th Anniversary Building, the International School of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, hosted the “Thai Cultural and Local Wisdom Exhibition of the Four Regions.” The event was designed and presented by students from class groups 67506.071 (Tourism and Hospitality Management) and 67509.071 (Bilingual Program).

The exhibition featured uniquely decorated booths that represented the cultural identity of Thailand’s four regions:

  • 🌿 Northern Region – local traditions, handicrafts, and symbolic decorations

  • 🍲 Central Region – culinary arts, Thai dining culture, and traditional attire

  • 🎶 Northeastern Region (Isan) – folk music, local dialects, and cultural performances

  • 🌊 Southern Region – distinctive local costumes, flavorful dishes, and cultural storytelling

The lively atmosphere was filled with creativity, knowledge, and cultural appreciation. Visitors experienced the diversity of Thai heritage through food, dress, language, and artistic displays prepared by the students.

Objectives of the Exhibition

  1. To showcase Thai cultural identity and local wisdom across regions

  2. To develop students’ communication and presentation skills in cultural contexts

  3. To integrate classroom knowledge with real-world application in tourism studies

  4. To enhance teamwork, collaboration, and project management skills among students

Outcomes and Achievements

  • Students gained hands-on experience in event management, from planning and design to execution

  • Creativity and innovation were encouraged in presenting cultural heritage to the public

  • Deeper appreciation and respect for Thailand’s cultural diversity were fostered

  • Positive impressions were created among attendees, both in learning and in the welcoming atmosphere

This event was a meaningful step in connecting academic learning with community engagement while raising awareness among youth about the importance of preserving and promoting Thai culture.
