Mastering a foreign language goes beyond classroom learning—it's about applying it in real-world situations. On August 17, 2024, students from the Tourism, Hospitality, and Aviation programs had the chance to put their language skills to the test during a field trip to Khao Sok National Park and the surrounding community. Guided closely by experienced instructors, they practiced foreign language tour guiding in a dynamic and immersive environment.
International School Students Take Language Skills to the Next Level with Tourism Practice at Khao Sok, Empowering the Community for Global Outreach!
The Foreign Language for Tourism instructors—Mr. Han Soeng Il, Dr. Wirun Phichaiwongpakdee, Ms. Nurulhuda Jelaoh, and Ms. Nuchanan Sajjakliew—led students from the Tourism, Hospitality, and Aviation programs at Suratthani Rajabhat University on a language practice excursion to Khao Sok National Park and its local community. The students engaged in foreign language tour guiding (Korean, Chinese, Malay, and Japanese) as part of the "Social Engineer Classroom: Foreign Languages for Communication in Khao Sok’s Community-Based Tourism" project. This initiative aims to enhance students’ language proficiency while empowering the community to effectively serve foreign tourists. Through this experience, students not only improved their language skills but also helped the community convey its cultural and natural heritage to international visitors with clarity and precision.
