Work-Integrated Learning Internship (CWIE Internship)
Second-year THM students are required to undertake a four-month Work-Integrated Learning Internship (CWIE) with industry partner organizations selected by the THM division. This internship aims to develop students’ practical skills in Tour Operation and Hotel Business, with an emphasis on hands-on training and understanding operational duties and responsibilities in service-related work. Students may choose to complete their internship with companies related to the tour operation or hotel business sectors that have been approved by the THM division. Through real working experiences in professional workplaces, students will gain practical knowledge, understand real industry situations, and develop insights into the operational processes and management practices of organizations in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Co-operative Education Internship
After THM students have completed their academic studies and fulfilled all academic requirements, they are required to undertake a second four-month Co-operative Education Internship. Students may choose to complete their internship either domestically or internationally in tourism and hospitality-related organizations, such as hotels, travel agencies, tour operation companies, food and beverage (F&B) businesses, tourism organizations, spas, hospitals, and other related establishments. Students’ internship performance will be evaluated by the workplace supervisors and the Internship Program Manager.
