SRU Tourism Students Connect with Japanese Culture through Yanagawa High School Exchange

From August 19-22, 2024, Dr. Jeerati Poon-iead, Dean of the International School of Tourism, led a team of faculty and students to Samui Island for a cultural exchange with high school students from Yanagawa High School, Japan.

The Cultural Exchange activity between students from the International Schoolof Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University, and Yanagawa High School in Japan took place on Samui Island. The event aimed to provide the International College students with practical experience in guiding foreign tourists, boosting their confidence and foreign language communication skills. Additionally, it fostered mutual cultural learning and exchange. This experience is a significant step in preparing the students to become global citizens, equipped with an understanding of diverse cultures and the ability to work effectively in international contexts
