International School of Tourism Hosts “AI for Research Writing” Workshop to Elevate Research to International Standards

Enhancing academic staff capabilities in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) for effective research writing aligned with international standards

Enhancing Research Writing with AI

The International School of Tourism, Surat Thani Rajabhat University, organized a hands-on workshop titled “AI for Research Writing: Elevating Research Articles to International Standards” at the International School of Tourism. The initiative aims to strengthen academic staff capabilities in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to produce high-quality research articles aligned with global academic standards.

Organized by the Academic and Research Affairs Division, the project focuses on enhancing knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in using AI tools throughout the research process—from idea development, data searching and synthesis, structuring research papers, to improving clarity, accuracy, and academic quality of writing.

Intensive Hands-on Learning Experience

Participants engaged in intensive lectures and practical workshops held on April 23, 2026. The program was officially reported by Asst. Prof. Pornpaktra Sakda, Associate Dean for Academic and Research Affairs, and opened by Dr. Jeerati Poon-ied, Dean of the International School of Tourism. The workshop was honored by the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawalin Angkananon as the keynote speaker, who delivered comprehensive insights into leveraging AI for developing research ideas, identifying research gaps, writing literature reviews, and preparing key sections such as methodology, results, and discussion, as well as refining manuscripts for submission to international academic journals.

Driving Research Excellence at the International Level

This initiative aims to elevate the quality of research outputs among academic staff and increase opportunities for publication in international journals. It aligns with the university’s strategic mission to advance research that contributes to knowledge creation and sustainable local development through innovation.

Integrating AI into research writing not only enhances efficiency and reduces development time but also empowers researchers to produce high-quality work that is competitive at the global level, while maintaining strict adherence to academic ethics.

This workshop represents another significant milestone for the International School of Tourism in strengthening research capabilities and supporting the university’s journey toward sustainable academic excellence on the international stage.
