IST, Transforms Asset Management with the Launch of "IST Asset+": A QR Code System for Real-time Tracking, Moving Towards a Full Smart Office

The International School of Tourism (IST), Surat Thani Rajabhat University, is driving the organization towards the digital era with the upcoming launch of the "Resource Management System Development Project for Sustainability", or "IST Asset+". This innovative web application is designed to streamline asset and material management, significantly reducing paper usage (Paperless) while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ms. Jaree Prommana, Acting Dean of the International School of Tourism, revealed that this project is a strategic collaboration between the Information Technology Department and the Dean's Office. The initiative aims to address the limitations of traditional, paper-based asset management, which is often time-consuming and resource-intensive. The IST Asset+ system will facilitate a complete transition of these workflows into a fully digital ecosystem.

A key feature of the system is the integration of QR Code technology for asset tracking. This innovation allows personnel to verify asset status, process borrow-return transactions, and requisition consumable materials via smartphones in real-time. The system ensures greater accuracy, precision, and transparency in auditing, while also enabling rapid data analysis for executive decision-making.

"This transformation not only enhances operational efficiency but also reflects IST's commitment to being an innovative organization that prioritizes environmental sustainability. It aligns perfectly with the University's strategy of becoming a Smart University," said the project representative.

The IST Asset+ project is scheduled to commence system testing and full implementation between November and December 2025.
